My name is Amnerys Taveras, and I am USG’s 2026–2027 Press Director. I am currently a second-year student at Brooklyn College pursuing a double major in Accounting and Marketing. This is my first year serving on the USG Executive Cabinet, but I have been involved in student clubs and campus engagement since my first year at Brooklyn College. During the Spring 2026 semester, I served as MEDo’s Social Media Director, where I helped develop and manage social media content, promote events and initiatives, and create an online presence for the club. Through this experience, I developed a strong interest in communications, branding, and using social media as a tool to connect students with their campus community.
As Press Director, I hope to build on that experience by helping USG effectively communicate with the Brooklyn College student body, highlighting the work of student leaders, promoting campus initiatives, and making important information more accessible to students. I am excited to bring my creativity, communication skills, and passion for student engagement to the Executive Cabinet and to contribute to making the student government experience more transparent, connected, and representative of the Brooklyn College community.

Social Media Team
Social Media Team
The Social Media Team at Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is responsible for creating and managing engaging content across various platforms. They design flyers, produce TikTok videos, and run social media campaigns to keep students informed and involved in USG events and initiatives. The team also interviews students on campus, collects content from events, and highlights campus resources, all while promoting events to maximize student participation and engagement.

Section 7 - The Office of Press Director
1. An “Office of Press Director” is hereby established, and shall be headed by a duly-certified “Press Director”.
2. The Press Director shall be the principal spokesperson and representative through whom the student government announces and publicizes its actions or decisions.
3. The Press Director shall work in conjunction with the President towards representing the executive branch’s messages and goals and may perform such additional actions as it deems necessary to represent the student government.
4. The Press Director shall have the principal responsibility of maintaining the website, maintaining an online and social media presence, and maintaining a program to promote student engagement with student government, promote campus affairs, and market the student government generally.
