Email Tips & Tricks

• Click on the hyperlink outlook.com

• Enter your student email address uses the following format: Your CUNYfirst username followed by @bcmail.cuny.edu (e.g., your.username01@bcmail.cuny.edu).

• Enter your CUNYfirst password

• Enjoy

Android

• Configure your email with Exchange Go to System Settings> Accounts & Sync/Email > Add Account

• Choose Exchange/Microsoft Exchange

• Domain/Username: your student email address and password Server/Sever Address: outlook.office365.com

• Use secure connection (SSL) and Accept all SSL certificates, then select Next.

Select the services you wish to sync with the Exchange server and when to sync. Press Done. All the information should be verified and configured on your device.

Go to System Settings

• Accounts & Sync/Email > Add Account > Other

• Enter your email (i.e. username@bcmail.cuny.edu and password) then select Manual Setup.

• Choose IMAP:

Incoming Server Settings

• • Username: Enter your student email address (username@bcmail.cuny.edu, and password)

  • IMAP server: outlook.office365.com

  • Security type: SSL (Accept all certificates)

  • Port: 993

Click Next

Outgoing Server Settings

• SMTP server: outlook.office365.com

• Security type: TLS (Accept all certificates)

• Port: 587

• Require sign-in: Make sure this is checked

• Username: Enter your student email address (username@bcmail.cuny.edu, and password)

Click Next, and then Done.

• Log into your Gmail through Desktop (Through a PC/Laptop/Mac) - This is crucial as in mobile you wont be able to access the settings.

• In the top right, click Settings (icon) > See all settings > accounts.

• Look under "Check mail from other accounts" and click add mail account.

• Enter your email address (****@bcmail.cuny.edu). Next.

• Import emails from my other account (POP3). Next.

• Enter username: (Aharon.Grama92@bcmail.cuny.edu)
  Password: your CUNY first password
  POP Server: outlook.office365.com
  Port: 995
  Check "Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail"
  Optional: Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server (Just to be safe).

• Done (Follow the next question to send through gmail as your BC address

• Log into your Gmail through Desktop (Through a PC/Laptop/Mac) - This is crucial as in mobile you wont be able to access the settings.

• In the top right, click Settings (icon) > See all settings > accounts.

• Look under "Send mail as:" and click add another email address.

• Enter name and full email address and click next. (recommended to check treat as an alias)

• SMTP Server: smtp.office365.com
  Port 587
  Username: ****@bcmail.cuny.edu
  Password: your CUNY first password
  Secured connection using TLS/SSL

• Insert one time verification code

• Done.
